A homeowner in Ruiru, Kiambu needed a reliable backup power solution due to recurring electricity outages.
Kilimo Power supplied and installed a 6kW Felicity hybrid solar system designed to provide dependable backup power while allowing the home to utilize energy generated from its rooftop solar panels.
The installation combines a 6kW Felicity hybrid inverter, a 5kWh lithium battery and six rooftop solar panels. The battery stores energy for use when grid electricity is unavailable, while the hybrid inverter manages power between the solar array, battery and grid supply.
The installation included mounting the solar panels on the home's metal roof, installing the inverter and lithium battery, electrical protection components, cable management, system configuration and commissioning.
The result is a cleaner and more dependable residential energy system that gives the homeowner greater resilience during grid outages.
